First contact

  1. Open your AI assistant and ask: “Explain what an applicant tracking system is to someone who has never worked in HR, in under 120 words.”
  2. Ask the same question again in a new chat. Note what changed and what stayed the same. This is the element of chance in action.
  3. Now ask: “What is Brightwater Logistics’ parental leave policy?” A well-behaved model should say it does not know. If it invents an answer, you have just seen a hallucination.
