Develop a working HR automation

Goal. Build a working HR automation in Zapier that reduces administrative effort, with appropriate human-in-the-loop guardrails.

Steps.

1. Choose a task. The new-hire kickoff is a good default and connects to your Module 1 map and Module 2 content.
2. Map the current process and estimate the time it takes.
3. Write the specification.
4. Build it with fictional data and your own email addresses. Use the full version if you have access to multi-step Zaps, or the two-step variant on the free plan.
5. Run the test plan and record results.
6. Write the runbook.
7. Estimate the annual time saved.

Deliverables. Process map; specification; evidence that it works (screenshots of the Zap and of a successful run in Zap history); completed test log; runbook including guardrails and off switch; time- saving estimate.

Check your work. Does anything reach a person outside HR without a human seeing it first? What happens when a field is blank? Who is alerted on failure? Could someone else switch it off?
